Each month I wish to inspire you to become a better you. I will share various information and tips which have helped, inspired or motivated me along my journey. I sincerely hope they will assist you, in some small way, with your life’s path.
I have fallen in love with the work of Brene Brown. There are 2 books I have listened to (yes I listen to my books). “Rising Strong” & “Dare to Lead”. She is a Research Storyteller about vulnerability and how this is the birthplace to creativity.
I have mentioned her TED Talks previously and she does know how to tell a story. These books really open your mind about how being vulnerable can change and fulfill your live on a completely different level.
Have a read, have a listen. They are so worth it, and I believe will help with emotional health.
“Tag”…it is a recent release and s based on a true story. I love the concept behind the it. A group of mates have been playing Tag since they were 9. During the month of May every year they play the game and travel all over the country to “tag” someone. Whoever is “it” at the end of the month is the loser…until the next year. Now remember they are all in the 40’s now.
What the game does is provide them with the opportunity to connect with each other, have fun and laugh. They dress up, sneak around try to tag a mate. What a great way to stay connected. Check out the footage at the end of the movie which is the original guys catching each other out. Genuine love towards each other.
It’s Easter…and I am a chocoholic. I had a few to many last night (because we usually don’t have chocolate in the house), and woke up with an aching pancreas during the night. So enjoy the choc’s, just do it in moderation. 😉
MENTAL HEALTH TIP
Take the time out to connect with your loved ones. Whether it is down the park with the kids playing with the frisbee or flying a kite. Or a picnic with your spouse, just the 2 of you where you can forget about the rat race and just chat and connect. It does fulfill the soul.
Connection – it is my word of the moment. I have found by really connecting with my wife, family and friends, it leaves me in a much better heart and head space…feeling the love.
“Woody Norris: Hypersonic sound and other inventions”. This is 10 years old but the ideas of how sound could be used, how it is already being use and we don’t even know about it. I think technology is catchup up to this invention. Amazing invention…and what is more amazing is that it is 10+ years old. Check it out.
“Courage is the resistance to fear, the mastery of fear, not the absence of fear.” Mark Twain.
The amazing opportunities that are opening up for my future project that is really important to me. Lets see where they may lead.
